I CAN’T WAIT for this movie. Romeo + Juliet (the Leo version, obviously) changed my life. I feel like this movie is perfectly cast (Leo as Gatsby, duh) except for the most crucial piece of the pie: Daisy. Siobhan is always calling me Daisy Buchanan and not in a complimentary way, so I should start by saying I feel a certain affinity for this misunderstood character… But Carey Mulligan? Really? WHY. Yesterday in the car I had a long conversation with my new friend Rebecca about who would have been a better choice than Carey. For longtime readers of this blog or for longtime knowers of me, you know what I am about to say— one word— RACHELMCADAMS. Of course. I think she can do anything and also wear any hair color, but more importantly, she is closer in age to Leo and much more his equal and I feel she can work some pearls and some mystique. Also, though I’m not her biggest fan, Michelle Williams would have been a fine, if not expected, choice for Daisy. So basically anybody but Carey. Except ScarJo. Or Blake Lively.
