One thing you have got to know about me is that I ♥ California. Who knew one state could have so much too see! Desert, ocean, mountains… its got the whole package. So in honor of Jenny’s Summer Lovin’ Tour, I thought I’d make a Cali Playlist! Here are my favorite songs about the golden state:)
1. California Stars - Billy Bragg and Wilco
2. California - Phantom Planet
3. Going to California - Led Zeppelin
4. California Girls - The Beach Boys
5. In You’re Atmosphere - John Mayer
6. Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppersx Riley

Decisions. I wish I could just make up my mind and move on, but I can’t. I always end up looking back and asking myself that disastrous question: what if. It’s those “what if”s that keep me up at night, staring at shadows that flicker on the wall. It’s those “what if”s that make it hard to look him in the eyes as I walk by on the way to class. It’s painful to think about how I could have handled things better, and not be able to do anything about it. I am helplessly incapable of changing the past, but the past isn’t the problem. What’s done is done. Really… its those persisting doubts of the present that leave me paralyzed.

Valentines Day is coming up…. whoop-dee-doo. All that pink really makes me want to gag. And seriously? Do we really need a day where public affection is deemed acceptable? If anything, PDA should be banned on February 14th because it only makes us (the less fortunate women of the world) feel like we’ve been punched.
Anyway, here is my “I’m desperately lonesome playlist”. It’s full of acoustics and sad, affectionate lyrics. These songs will keep you company throughout that wonderful holiday! Enjoy lovies ♥
1. You - The Pretty Reckless
2. Lovesick Misery - Sanders Bohlke
3. Te Amo - Trevor Hall
4. Every Breath You Take - The Police
5. Baby Don’t You Break My Heart Slow - Taylor Swift

So, here I am again. Getting up early to go to school. Going to school. Leaving school. Sleeping. And on and on and on. It’s a never ending circle of tedious classes and forced encounters with socially-obsessed and testosterone-filled teenagers. Winter Break, though refreshing, was just too short and my “ready-to-go-back-meter” was only a quarter full when I got to school this morning. But— I guess this is how life works. Things never seem to last as long as you want (or in some cases, end as quickly as you want). Maybe my “ready-meter” is rigged because I sure can’t remember a time when I was excited to go back to this bleak and depressing place. Anyways, I’m going to stop bitching and go make a countdown for spring break. I think that’s the only thing stopping me from ripping my limbs off. Over and out.

Brad Pitt back when he was a still a baby. Seriously…. how cute is he? Look at that smile, that jaw line. Plus he totally works the whole western-dude thing in “A River Runs Through It” and “Legends of the Fall”. Grrrrr Angelina, why do you have all the luck?

“I thought Love liv’d in the hot sunshine,
But O, he lives in the Moony light!
I thought to find Love in the heat of Day,
But sweet Love is the Comforter of Night.”
-William Blake

I thought that I “loved” him. But honestly, now I don’t think I do. I loved the idea of him. No. I loved the idea of love in general. I convinced myself that he was perfect. That WE would be perfect. I thought I understood him… saw the sweetness underneath his asshole exterior. My imagination got a little carried away. Reality check: I hardly know him. How could I assume all of these things? How did I get so attached… so convinced that he actually was the guy I wanted him to be? It’s straight up ridiculous. All those romantic movies have seriously been messing with my brain.

Gosh do I love black and white photos. I found a dusty album in a box of my grandmothers old things, like buried treasure. It’s from my grandparents wedding day back in 1961. Doesn’t she look a bit like Marylin Monroe? Makes me wonder….
How quickly life must go by.
